The service allows calling any network, but calls can only be received in the Romtelecom network. According to a Romtelecom official, the service is available as part of pilot testing of the market.
“We created this product to attempt to adapt our portfolio to client needs, and according to our studies, VoIP is a service desired by our clients,” said a Romtelecom official.
VoIP allows clients to call any landline or mobile phone network from a regular phone, provided there is an internet connection. The person that requests a VoIP subscription should have a Click Net internet contract, the internet service offered by Romtelecom. VoIP has been offered by several telecom operators since 2002, prior to market liberalization.
