“With experience of over 30 years in the international energy industry, Enrique Ferrer has been President of Energy Holding for four years, during which he managed to meet all the targets set since taking on this position,” said company representatives. These objectives included taking the company to a leading position on the free Romanian electricity market and entering markets in the region as energy trader.

Roy A. Maybud was Vice President for three years, and as Energy Holding’s new President he “will continue the same management policy,” said company officials. They added that Maybud’s priorities will include maintaining the company among top private energy providers in Romania, expanding the company’s business in southeastern Europe, and developing large projects in the field of energy production.

According to data provided by the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), in the first seven months of 2008, Energy Holding was surpassed by the state-owned Electrica, the largest energy supplier on the market. The trader’s market share dropped rapidly to 9 percent from 19 percent in 2007, due to the loss of the Oltchim and Petrom contracts. The company will focus on diversifying its business and will not attempt to regain lost ground.
