The group sees Romania as one of the core countries for its development plans, Falkenhof added.
RWE is currently holding talks with six or seven wind energy developers locally, and hopes to finalize part of the negotiations next year, according to Falkenhof, who did not speak about the energy capacity it is interested in. “On the wind energy segment, we have no specific target,” he said, adding that legislative changes in the field are to impact on the company’s decisions.
The group also has ongoing discussions with potential partners for the production of hydro and biomass energy. Falkenhof indicated that RWE’s budget for renewable energy projects in Europe amounts to €1 billion.
Falkenhof added that the company is not affected by the crisis. “We have lots of liquidity because we had a conservative policy. We do not need to revise our targets,” he said.
