According to data published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the company ended 2007 with RON 194.7 million (€45.33 mln) in net sales. “We posted an increase in turnover of some 15 percent annual in 2008 compared to 2007 and, more importantly, the service sector which we are fully involved in developing and to which we are fully committed registered a rise of over 25 percent compared to 2007,” said Dan Roman, the company’s Chairman of the Board.
The company official said that the service segment rises in times of crisis, as many enterprises either reduce or redraft their long-term IT budgets, requiring the services of specialized companies in 2009.
In 2008, one third of S&T’s business came from hardware sales, and the remainder from the service segment. “At present, this is an optimal ratio for the Romanian market. Of course, if we move towards the DACH [Germany, Austria, and Switzerland] region, this ratio will turn more to the service segment,” added Roman.
Some 70 percent of the company’s business registered in 2008 came from the private environment, and S&T’s main clients include Romtelecom, Vodafone, and Petrom.
