Of total turnover, post-sale services make up some 10 percent.
Scania Romania sales are to amount to some 500 units this year, slightly lower year-on-year. In the first nine months of 2008, some 400 units were sold.
“Demand is dropping in both Romania and worldwide, because of the global crisis that is impacting on industrial production and the hike in fuel prices, with a direct effect on demand for transportation services,” Pasol added. Given the general elections scheduled for November, “construction projects are frozen, with direct impact on specialized truck sales. It is clear that the heavy truck segment will suffer most,” he added.
Scania Romania currently has seven sales and service centers and is to expand its network to nine centers next year, following a €4 million investment.
