Servtrans business could stagnate

The company is part of International Railway Systems (IRS), controlled by businessman Cristian Burci. “If it was not for this financial crisis, we would have reached our target. Turnover will be maintained this year at the 2008 level,” the company’s Marketing Manager, Sorin Zbengheci, told Business Standard. He added that Servtrans will conclude more contracts for goods railway transport this year, but for lower volumes.

According to Zbengheci, the goods railway transport market will change and, if the crisis lasts more than six months, small operators will sell their business or declare bankruptcy.

Servtrans’ main competitors are CFR Marfa, Grup Feroviar Roman, Unifertrans and Rompetrol.
