Servtrans expecting 2008 turnover of €48.6 mln
“We met the objectives we set in 2007, some even higher than expected. We believe that the company’s operational profit for 2007 will reach some €1.72 mln, 5 percent higher than last year, while turnover will slightly exceed €44 mln, 42 percent higher than in 2006. Servtrans is proposing to increase these indicators by 10 percent next year, according to a statement for Business Standard by Servtrans Manager of Marketing, Sorin Zbengheci.

The Marketing Manager went on to say that the company will establish a partnership with an international consortium in the coming period (by the end of 2008). “Servtrans will be part of the Retrack project, financed by the European Commission, which plans to connect two major European ports - Rotterdam and Constanta,”, added Zbengheci. This research project is being financed by the European Union, to analyze railway transportation between Rotterdam and Constanta.

In order to consolidate its position in Europe, the operator will establish a joint venture with CFR Marfa to modernize rolling stock belonging to the latter company which is presently not being used. Servtrans will provide financial support for this project.

Servtrans is one of the top private Romanian rail transportation operators, competing with national operator, CFR Marfa, Grup Feroviar Roman, Unifertrans, and Rompetrol.
