Servtrans plans to transport 6 mln tons of goods in 2008

In the past two years, Servtrans purchased several new cars from producer International Railway Systems (IRS) Group, which controls Servtrans.
The company currently owns some 3,000 cars and plans to acquire a further 1,000 this year, of which 500 new and 500 refurbished.

The company estimates some €48.6 mln in turnover, 10 percent higher year-on-year. Operating profit amounted to €1.72 mln last year, 5 percent higher than in 2006.

Its main competitors are state-owned operator CFR Marfa, with 7 percent market share, Grup Feroviar Roman, Unifertrans and Rompetrol.
