At the end of 2008, SIF Moldova had bank deposits worth RON 50 million (€11.7 mln), some 40 percent higher year-on-year. Furthermore, investments in state shares and municipal bonds exceeded RON 2 million (€0.46 mln).
SIF Moldova is one of the five financial investment companies listed on BVB, and the smallest in terms of market value.
During yesterday’s trading session, its capitalization was worth €55.6 million. At the end of 2008, SIF Moldova had 243 companies in its portfolio, of which 114 were listed on the stock market. “We will carry on with the portfolio restructuring process by selling some properties, thus creating liquidities,” Doros added.
Last year, shares of companies listed on BVB registered the worst decline in their history. Overall market capitalization fell by a staggering €14 billion.
