The company’s management indicated that priorities in this period will be a reduction in expenses, diversification of the portfolio, and the sale of participation in companies “which have less chance of recovery.” Furthermore, SIF Moldova launched a forum on the company’s site, for discussion with shareholders, and company representatives are awaiting opinions and suggestions on major problems relating to its activities.
“We are working on the reorganization of SIF Moldova, including the organizational chart, as our portfolio has been gravely affected by the crisis, much more than the other investment companies,” said Ceocea.
SIF Moldova, which at the end of the first half of the year had assets worth some RON 970 million, only 1 percent higher year-on-year, intends to increase its participation in companies less affected by the crisis, such as pharmaceutical and infrastructure companies. It will give up 30 of the 230 companies it has in its portfolio, according to the President of SIF2.
