“Our study provides an arithmetic average of salaries in industries such as automotive, electronics, telecommunication, electro technical, and food. This data refers to the salary contained in the employee’s work contract, reported for January 2009,” Gynella Parfenie, Senior Consultant of AIMS Human Capital Romania, told Business Standard.
According to AIMS data, a skilled worker in a multinational company operating in western Romania, has a monthly salary of €210, 20 times lower than a factory manager. While the monthly salary of an accountant amounts to €570, a financial manager earns some €2,100.
“As far as the comparison with Bucharest goes, salary differences are maintained. Salaries in Bucharest remain up to 20-25 percent higher than those in the western region,” said Alexandru Talmazan, Managing Partner of the Wrightson Romania executive search company.
According to Talmazan, salaries fell 10-15 percent compared to their forecast level, as a direct result of the international crisis.
