Slight comeback for the leu and BVB

The exchange rate of the euro/leu made a slight comeback yesterday below the RON 3.7 average quotation calculated by the National Bank of Romania (BNR), ending at RON 3.6978, following its surge on Monday to the highest level in the past three years.  The Romanian Stock Exchange’s (BVB) BET-FI, the most sensitive index, rose by over 2 percent, to 67,225 points.  Brokers believe this to be more of a technical correction of the negative trend.  The BET-C composite index (of all shares except those of the financial investment companies) was more hesitant, registering a 0.12 percent drop, to 5,844 points.
