Based on exports in recent years (€250 million in 2005 and €380 mln in 2006), Romania enjoys one of the highest growths in Central and Eastern Europe. Representatives of Siveco Romania, one of the country’s main e-Solutions and Enterprise Resource Planning developers, providers and integrators, estimate that exports will exceed €1 billion in coming years. “Such growth is normal for a developing market and is the result of an increase in projects. Outsourcing continues to make up the largest portion of exports,” according to a statement for Business Standard by Valerica Dragomir, Executive Manager of ANIS.
The requirements of businesses are the main engine influencing this evolution.

“Since foreign companies have come onto the market, Romanian companies have refined their IT solutions,” explained Siveco Romania representatives.

Constant contact with European and global trends opens new ways for Romanian companies. Furthermore, the “IT Romania” branding export strategy is an important contributor to growth. The largest sales were registered in security, business intelligence and office software.

“While exports are responsible for two thirds of total revenue, the rate of growth of the internal market is slower, making exports the engine of this sector,” added Valerica Dragomir.
