Special clause in the Hidroelectrica-Alro energy supply contract

The company has already changed all contracts with other electricity consumers and increased energy prices. A stipulation in the Alro contract, however, states that price corrections are made in accordance with indicators in the previous year’s budget, Hidroelectrica’s General Manager, Traian Oprea, told Business Standard. He listed reasons for increasing prices as “several investments, some repair work. These are the conditions which are not negotiable,” he said. Alro covers some 8 percent of Romania’s total energy consumption.

Hidroelectrica estimates it will produce 15.9 TWh of electricity and foresees some €576 million in revenue and €8.3 mln in profit.
