The company exports 8 percent of its Bucharest production to Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova.
“Exports will become increasingly more important in our business. To date, the Moldova was more important in this area, but through the recent acquisition in Bulgaria we will have a larger distribution network,” according to a statement for Business Standard by Sotiris Yannopoulos, General Manager of Star Foods Romania and Bulgaria.
The main potato chip and snack producers in Romania are Star Foods, Intersnack, Best Foods and European Foods.
According to Yannopoulos, the company’s own products makes up 50 percent of total turnover, while the remaining 50 percent comes from distribution. Star Foods distributes 7Days croissants, Bake Rolls, and Swiss Rolls, owned by Chipita.
