Stock Exchanges indices start the year off down

As such, the Stock Exchange’s BET-C composite index dropped 1.71 percent, and the BET index of the top ten most liquid listed companies lost 1.98 percent. The BET-FI, which follows the evolution of the five financial investment companies (SIF) depreciated 1.58 percent.

On the other hand, the banking and oil sectors registered increases, following an appreciation of Banca Transilvania shares by 0.56 percent to RON 0.905, and of Petrom shares by 0.4 percent to RON 0.499. Transactions of SIF shares amounted to €0.21 mln, while those of Romania’s largest oil company reached €28,000. SIF Oltenia shares dropped 1.6 percent to RON 4.27/per share, against a backdrop of changes in value of €0.15 mln.

Principal market liquidity was €1.2 mln.
