“We are obviously adapting our budget to the crisis, because this is an agitated period when the position of energy suppliers is vulnerable and we have to be cautious,” Stroe explained.
The company forecasts lower financial targets in 2009, considering the 8-10 percent drop in electricity consumption registered on the market in the past months.
EGL is also considering taking advantage of this financial crisis through acquisitions in the field of electricity production from renewable sources. “All companies are investing, depending on their liquidities. Banks have closed their doors, but we have liquidities for rainy days,” said Stroe.
The company is interested in acquisitions on the wind energy market and Stroe said “there will be huge opportunities generated by the crisis in the fall of 2009, especially on this market.”
The trader plans to maintain its current market share. “If you want to expand your market share during a crisis, you may find you have many clients, but which are not solvable,” Stroe said.
