"In the past few days, we have noted interest in acquisition when the euro reaches RON 3.11. We shall see next week if such interest is maintained, but I do not believe that the euro will exceed RON 3.15. Rather we will come back to quotations around RON 3.11/euro," Florin Bota, Banca Transilvania dealer, told NewsIn. On international markets, the dollar has depreciated significantly since Tuesday evening, reaching a record minimum quotation against the euro, of 1.3789 $/€. Yesterday, the rate was about 1.3730-1.3789$/€, while local interbank interest for overnight RON deposits stood at 5-7 percent per year, below the key interest level.
Most analysts say the leu still has growth potential in the coming six months, after which we may notice slight rate corrections.
