Supreme Chocolat forecasts 10% increase in turnover in 2007

In the first semester (H1) of 2007 the company registered an increase of five percent year-on-year, to some €11 million. Supreme Chocolat is part of Supreme Group, which is active on the chocolate and cookie market. The company entered the Romanian chocolate market in 2001, where it is well known for its brands Primola (medium), Anidor (premium) and Novatini (economy). Cookie production began in 2005, and now represents some 30 percent of total production.

According to Supreme Chocolat estimates, the chocolate tablet market amounts to some 19,000 tons in 2007. The company's market share (in volume) is approximately 23 percent, say company representatives, quoting ACNielsen, the world's leading marketing information company. According to Business Standard estimates, the leader on the chocolate tablet market is Kraft Foods Romania, with a 45 percent market share, followed by Kandia-Excelent, with some 24 percent.

Supreme Chocolat has programmed some €5 million in investments, mainly in automating production lines to comply with EU standards. Future plans include the strengthening of the company's position on the two markets on which it operates (chocolate and cookies), as well as extending to markets close to Romania.

Supreme Group also owns Supreme Imex, a coffee processor for Kraft Foods, Supreme Gourmet, which operates coffee shops, and Supreme Distribution.
