Surprise Romanian telecom transaction

Digital Cable Systems (DCS), one of the top suppliers of satellite TV programs, took over Dial Telecom Romania (DTR), one of the most important alternative suppliers of landline telephone systems.

The value of the transaction was not released, but DTR’s was valuated based on revenue and a multiple of seven of Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA), at some €6 million.

“By taking over DTR, DCS is one step close to becoming the third-largest Romanian supplier of 3play - telephone, internet and TT data networks,” said Calin Nistor, Commercial Manager of Dial Telecom.
