URBB ended 2007 with business worth some RON 302 million (€91.5 mln), according to data reported to the Ministry of Finance. Considering the 18 percent rise, the enterprise’s turnover amounted to RON 356.3 mln (€96.7 mln).
For 2009, the firm plans to raise its sales volume by nine percent on the beer segment and by 37 percent on the soft drink market, and raise to 20 percent the share of juices of the company’s net sales.
URBB started exporting its Tuborg and Holsten brands to Albania in 2008, and targets other countries in Eastern Europe in the near future. The management is considering a 50 percent rise in exports for 2009.
Due to the financial crisis, the company will cut its investments to some €7 mln in 2009, from approximately €20 mln in 2008. The producer initially drafted its budget for this year last October, based on a RON 3.8/€1 exchange rate, but revised this in January, at a RON 4.5/€1 rate.
