The crisis worsens the drop rate of R.H.S. sales

Moreover, another factor that blocked investments in other areas is related to the acquisition of the ProCa Romania IT distributor, which previously belonged to the RTC group, owned by businessman Octavian Radu.

Thus, is the drop rate was 9.2 percent at the end of 2008 compared to sales registered in 2007, this indicator climbed to 14 percent in the first half of this year, compared to H1 2008.

“The net sales posted in the first six months are of RON 108 million [€25.5 mln], and I can say that we are pleased with this figure, in the current market context. We have practically dropped 14 percent from 2008 [RON 125 mln, meaning €34.05 mln in the same period of 2008]. But if we look at the market, our situation is pretty good, considering that, according to our data, the decline is 40-45 percent,” R.H.S. Company’s General Manager, Dragos Popescu, told Business Standard.

For this year, company officials have two major targets: a double-digit market share on each segment R.H.S. is operating on, and maintaining profit in the black. According to players, the value of the IT distribution market is estimated at €700-800 mln for 2009.
