The government to cut twice from the pensions of Romania's parliamentary and magistrates

All the Romanian pensioners and those who plan to retire from July 1 will receive 15 percent lower pensions compared to the level of contributions, and the restraint measures will not avoid the magistrates or the parliamentary, as the pension point is cut by 15 percent for everyone, the same people told NewsIn.

Labor Minister Mihai Seitan said in February the recalculation of the special pensions will prompt decreases of up to 80 percent.

The Labor Ministry announced on Tuesday the pensioners and the employees to retire from July 1 will receive 15 percent smaller pensions compared to the level of contributions, as the pension point will be calculated at 622.9 lei, versus 732.8 lei at the time.

The 15 percent cut of the pension point is applied from July 1 to the end of the year.
