The largest Indian software company wants to invest in Romanian in 2009

“The largest Indian software company, part of the Tata group of companies, will come to Romania shortly, to invest in software development, and will attract a share of Romania’s programmers”, said Liviu Dragan, Chairman of ANIS.

Dragan added that the company will make a greenfield investment. “The company is far to large to enter Romania with an acquisition. The company has already decided on the hiring structure”, added Dragan.

TCS opened a client support center and an IT and non-IT help-desk in Budapest in 2001, which had over 1,000 employees last year.

Globally the company posted turnover for the financial year ending on 31 March 2008 worth $5.7 billion (€4.16 bln). It also announced yesterday its acquisition of the Citigroup division in India, one of the most important international global financial service companies, for $505 million (€368.5 mln).
