Currency market dealers indicated that the depreciation is due to both the impact of negative events on international market and a decline in Romania’s macroeconomic indicators. The National Institute for Statistics (INS) yesterday announced that the trade balance deficit rose to €19.44 million in the first 11 months of 2007, 52 percent higher year-on-year.
