"Growth rates on the mobile phone market will begin to drop in the near future. While we could talk about 30-40 percent growth rates in the past few years, in 2007 our businesses rose by 24 percent," said Liliana Solomon, CEO of Vodafone Romania. From now on, increases will come mainly from data services, but short of the 40 percent level, she added.

Vodafone Romania expects to reach 9 million clients by the end of this fiscal year, according to company estimates, considering it registered 8.5 million clients by 30 September 2007. Orange Romania, Vodafone's main competitor on the local market, expects to reach the 10 million client threshold by the end of 2007.
