The Money Race on the go
Business Standard daily, together with Dnevnik, the first business newspaper in Bulgaria, and the Money Channel television, are publishing and broadcasting during September 17-28 the first cross-border media project in Eastern Europe - the Romania-Bulgaria Money Race.

Subject: "The Money Race" will provide readers and viewers a detailed analysis of the evolution of Romanian and Bulgarian economies, about 8 months after they joined the European Union. We focused on putting reality into figures, to better reflect the way the two countries changed their positions, and we will continue with detailed analyses on the development degree of both states.

Content: Together with information provided by public institutions in Romania and Bulgaria, "The Money Race" includes exclusive information resulted following more than 20 interviews with representative people from the business field of the two countries - Dan Ostahie, President of Altex, Liviu Voinea, CEO of Group of Applied Economics (GEA), Bogdan Georgescu, General Manager of Colliers, Steven van Groeningen, President of Raiffeisen Bank Romania, with Bulgarian personalities such as Levon Hampartzoumian, President of UniCredit Bulgaria, Alexander Kerezov, Vice President of Chimimport, the largest Bulgarian holding, Pavel Stancev, General Manager Nova TV, the first commercial television in Bulgaria, and Tonko Tonev, the mayor of Kavarna town, the most non-conventional tourist resort on the beach south of Vama Veche.

Exposure: "The Money Race" is an integrated media project, with daily development during two weeks, printed, online and on television. In the first week, between 17-23 September, we will try a short introduction of the consumer in the subject, with comparative figures meant to show the reader or the viewer in the actual race.

This will take place between 24-28 September and will include comparative Romania-Bulgaria studies, focused on two countries' business environments , the evolution of the quality of life, the access to communitarian resources, the development of infrastructure. They will be offered to readers by each of the publications participating in the project.

Along with the information published in Business Standard and the TV shows, "the Money Race" will have a significant online presence, through the www.standard.ro website, and will be supported by a blog specially created for this topic, where the reader can speak his or her mind. The project will end on September 28 with an interactive TV debate on The Money Channel, where several business personalities will be invited. Last but now least, "The Money Race" will be advertised in Bulgaria by the Dnevnik business daily.

Teams: Research for this project was made by two teams working in parallel, in Romania and Bulgaria. In Bucharest, Adrian Mirsanu, Editor in Chief of Business Standard, Ionut Giusca and Razvan Ilie, Editors of Business Standard, were coordinating the local slice, managing local interviews and statistic information. In Bulgaria, the team included Andreea Rosca, Manager of business publications within the Realitatea-Catavencu group, Leonard Ancuta, Editor of Busines Standard and project coordinator, Paul Angelescu, reporter at The Money Channel, and Liviu Matei, Image operator.

The Business Standard daily is a publication of the Realitatea-Catavencu press group, partner of the German Handelsblatt press trust.

Dnevnik is the most significant business daily in Bulgaria and is also one of Handelsblatt partners. The Money Channel is the first business television and is also part of the Realitatea-Catavencu group.
