BNR’s exchange rate stood at 4.2523 lei per euro on Friday.

In the first part of the session, the national currency soared from 4.2577 to 4.2511 versus the euro and then fell to 4.2680 lei per euro around 1 p.m.

For the U.S. dollar, BNR’s reference level grew 0.68 percent to 3.2588 lei per dollar, from 3.2369 in the previous session.

On the international market, the dollar eased from 1.3070 to 1.3115 versus the euro and inched to 1.3094 dollars per euro around 1 p.m.

Overnight interests on the monetary market stood at 2.08 – 2.58 percent a year, way below the key interest rate of 6.25 percent a year.
