The national currency inches to an exchange rate of 4.2368 lei/euro

BNR's reference level stood at 4.2396 lei per euro on Tuesday.

In the first part of the session, the national currency lowered from 4.2412 to 4.2324 per euro, but stabilized at 4.2394 lei per euro around 1 p.m.

For the U.S. dollar, BNR's reference level reduced 0.39 percent, to 3.3452 lei per dollar, from 3.3584 in the previous session.

On the international market, the dollar declined from 1.2645 to 1.2718 dollars per euro and then recovered to 1.2664 dollars per euro around noon.

Overnight interests on the monetary market stood at 4.54 – 5.04 percent a year, below the key interest rate of 6.25 percent a year.
