“Building highways with private funds would increase the pace of work considerably, as companies would have continuous financing sources and would be directly interested in more rapid finalization of projects,” Adrian Costin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CCCF Bucharest company, told Business Standard.
“We will continue our project-financing policy initiated in the past few years, and of course we are interested in these kinds of projects. The crisis will not affect this strategy,” Patrick Gelin, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the BRD lender.
Berceanu recently said that Romania started building highways in a wrong way, with money from the state budget, and this “huge mistake” will have to be rectified as soon as possible.
