Deals upped two thirds against the previous session, to 39.6 million lei (10.72 million euros). The previous session amounted to 23.9 million lei.

“The trading volume is increasing against the former sessions yet it stays way below the average seen last year,” KD Capital Management analyst Virgil Ivanov told NewsIn.

The average value of the deals amounts to 36 million lei per day, down against the 55.21 million lei seen last year.

The BET index measuring the market’s ten top performers gained 2.25 percent to 7,344.93 and the BET-C index assessing all listed shares minus investment funds grew 1.90 percent to 5,194.56.

The ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna advanced 2 percent to 16,562.07 . The BET-FI index tracking the five investment funds known as SIFs rose 3.28 percent, to 56,672.95.

SIF Oltenia (SIF5) grew 3.39 percent, to 3.05 lei, followed by SIF Moldova (SIF2), which went up 4.45 percent, to 2.58 lei. SIF Muntenia (SIF4) upped 3.59 percent, to 1.73 lei and SIF Transilvania (SIF3) advanced 1.92 percent, to 1.59 lei. The shares of Banat-Crisana (SIF1) upped 3.40 percent, to 2.74 lei.

BRD SocGen, Romania’s second largest lender by assets, rose 3.23 percent, to 22.40 lei. The price of the shares belonging to Romania’s fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) grew 2.01 percent, to 0.76 lei per share.

Erste Bank, trading on the international tier of the BSE and the main shareholder of Romania's largest bank by assets, rose 1.27 percent to 160 lei.

Gas operator Transgaz Medias (TGN) advanced 2.09 percent, to 235 lei. The shares of Romania’s No. 1 oil company Petrom (SNP) upped 2.38 percent, to 0.4310 lei.
