After being appointed one month ago as head of the Galaţi complex, the most important asset of the Romanian steel giant, the new manager said that one of his main goals is to develop organizational culture and build a team of Romanian managers to replace the current expats within the company’s top management, when the former are prepared.
“Following investments in technology and equipment, we are now trying to make investments in terms of work style and company management. At the same time, we want to promote a new generation of Romanian managers, to take over these positions over time. My purpose is not to have expat managers,” Le Gall added.
Considering the drop in demand for steel, Le Gall said that the plant’s average steel production in 2009 will most likely be 60 percent of the 2008 production.
