Thinkers 50 top creators say leaders have the courage to change

People with top positions in companies are not necessarily leaders. Dearlove and Crainer believe that a leader is, first and foremost, an interesting person, who is capable of opting for change and improving the organization, while a manager limits himself to handle the respective system.

“Leadership means people are willing to follow a leader on a journey to a better place. If you do not want the organization to be better, you are not a leader, you are a manager,” said Dearlove.

Leaders have to be prepared to fail, but they have to be courageous enough to try something new. Dearlove and Crainer have worked for more than 30 years in the business communication industry. They have published 15 books, translated in more than 20 languages.
