Timisoara and Bucharest branches drive CCCF business up to €139 mln

“The greatest contribution to final results came from the Timisoara branch, with some 45 percent of the total, followed by SCT Bucuresti, with 30 percent, and the remainder made up by activities of CCCF Bucuresti and the group’s other companies,” added Adrian Costin.

He further indicated that he is unable to make any estimate on revenue for 2009, although the goal proposed at the end of last year amounted to €250 million, because he is waiting for the finalizing of budgets allocated for the group’s current and future contracts.

At present, the group has a contract portfolio worth over €60 million, with most important contacts including work on the Bucharest Centura de Sud beltway, and the Campul lui Neag (DN 66) and Valea Dunarii (DN 57) national road sections.

Adrian Costin said he does not plan to effect massive layoffs, because the company’s strategy targets retaining specialized personnel, in order to carry out current projects. This year, the group laid off only 100 employees of its 3,100 staff.

CCCF Bucuresti dominated the Romanian construction market until the beginning of 2000, due to contracts with the Ministry of Transports, but its business started falling back in 2002, since which it accumulated debts worth some €60 million, and became insolvent.
