Tiriac Auto could drop to third position among top car dealers in 2008

The local car market is worth an annual €3.5 billion.

Porsche Romania is market leader, with sales of 60,000 units this year, resulting in business worth €1 billion, or growth up 40 percent year-on-year.

Tiriac Auto estimates sales of 36,000 units in 2007, 28 percent higher year-on-year. The third-largest dealer, Renault Nissan Romania, targets sales 33 percent higher year-on-year, up to 35,000 units. General Motors Southeast Europe, ranking fourth, estimates sales of 32,5000 units by the end of the year, up a staggering 68 percent.

Porsche Romania, Tiriac Holding’s car division and Renault Nissan Romania make up some 60 percent of the imported car market, estimated at about 230,000 units this year, 38 percent higher than in 2006.
