Top farmland fund in Europe interested in Romania

German Capital Partners investment company and British Bidwelles company are financing the fund. Some €300 million are to be invested in Romania, Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic and some farmlands in Western Europe. The two companies say this is the largest such fund ever established. 

Food prices doubled in the past five years, due to a strong demand in emerging countries and biofuels industry development.
The President of Bidwelles Agribusiness, Richard Warburton, said investors are seeking profits from food price hikes and focus on long term investments in farmland and specialized companies.
