The sale of alcohol in maximum security areas has been prohibited by Mayors Andrei Chiliman and Liviu Negoita of Bucharest’s Sectors 1 and 3.

Traffic will be restricted between 1-4 April between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.. Public transportation in the security areas will be modified, while travel along the Bucharest-Ploiesti DN1 national road will be limited to one lane each way.

Traffic will be prohibited all around the Parliament Palace during the summit. US Air Force units will assist with summit security. US aircraft will fly over Bucharest to counter any potential threat.

Traffic on the Danube-Black Sea and Poarta Alba-Midia Navodari canals will be restricted on April 2, the day President Traian Basescu meets US President George W. Bush at the seaside protocol villa at the Neptun resort.
