The company official, George Visan, also noted that large-scale projects are in the pipeline including the upgrade of two electricity units in Bacau and Sibiu counties worth 30 million euros each. A new power line between Romania and Hungary will also start up in the first quarter of 2008.
Meanwhile, Transelectrica inaugurated today a 220/110 kV power station in Bucharest following a 22 million euro investment, increasing the safety of the city's power sources.
The 220/110 kV power station is Transelectrica's tenth investment project and is a key node in the 110 kV ring in north-eastern Bucharest.
The company administers, operates, maintains and modernizes the power transportation network consisting of 77 units. Transelectrica also assures trans-border transportation of electricity and coordinates the national power system within the European network of the Union for the Co-ordination of Transmission of Electricity.
