Tornado Sistems, the largest IT&C distributor in Romania, is launching the country’s first IT&C retail franchise today, under the brand name Twister.
The program, based on a model offered by a store with the same name on stefan cel Mare Boulevard, intends to offer Tornado resellers throughout the country a framework for efficient and organized business.
Sources on the market say the distributor has already signed some 30 franchise contracts with companies that have been part of the Twister network for years. Twister, Tornado’s retail program, generates 25 percent of the company’s annual revenue. The company’s turnover for 2006 was around €105 million, while that in 2005 amounted to some €83 million. The Twister franchise will cost €10,000, and estimates put the number of companies interested in joining the network by the end of the year at some 100. The program is intended for IT&C companies
throughout Romania, who started as small retail stores in the past decade, expanded deliver and services to small and medium-sized enterprises, and now threatened by the expansion of large retail chains. This is Tornado Sistems’ second initiative, following SentriQ, which was introduced in 2004, and aimed at increasing revenues for its business partners in the services field.
