The unemployment rare slightly dropped in December 2007 to 1.8 percent and is currently among the lowest in Romania, according to the Local Employment Agency (AMOFM). The employment rate dropped 0.1 percent month-on-month. Among the 18,288 unemployed people in Bucharest, 57 percent were women. More than one million people are currently employed in Bucharest. Some 22,500 unemployed Bucharest inhabitants found a job last year.
