Unemployment rate in Romania drops for the third month in a row, reaches 7.44% at the end of June

Some 381,177 jobless people were receiving indemnities in June, 29,756 people less than in the previous month.

As many as 701,854 unemployed were counted in May.

The highest jobless rates were reported in June in the counties of Vaslui (13.94 percent), Mehedinti (12.36 percent), Teleorman (12.11 percent), Dolj (11.35 percent), Ialomita (10.95 percent), Alba (10.86 percent), Covasna (10.86 percent), Gorj (10.81 percent), Galati (10.50 percent) and Hunedoara (10.15 percent).

The smallest unemployment rate was recorded in Bucharest, of 2.57 percent, although the number of jobless rose by 720.
