The bank’s net profit stood at 152.3 million lei (48.6 million euros) in the first half of the year. The gross profit totalled 185 million lei, up 35.8 percent against the one of the first six months of 2006.
The total assets of UniCredit Tiriac went up 18 percent in the first half of the year, to 419 million lei. The bank’s assets saw a 4 percent decrease between June 2006 and June 2007, due to the appreciation of the national coin.
The merger between UniCredit Romania and HVB Tiriac Bank was completed in June, to form the UniCredit Tiriac bank, now ranking among the first four lenders on the Romanian market. The revenues of the two banks went up 15 percent in 2006, while the operational profit increased 10 percent. UniCredit Romania reported a16 million lei net profit in 2006, three fold against the one reported the previous year.
