Swiss Nestle group was also interested in acquiring more local players at some point, but in the end settled for Bulgaria, where it owns a production unit. The main players on the ice cream market are Nestle Ice Cream, Kubo Ice Cream, Betty Ice, Alpin'57 Lux, Top Gel, and Napolact. Unilever yesterday announced that it took over the Napoca brand, made available for sale last year, but the deal is yet to be approved by the Competition Council. A decision is to be made within three-four months, according to a group press release.
