Unirea Medical Center turnover 10% higher than expected in 2007
Some 80 percent of CMU’s income is generated by corporate services, while the remaining 20 percent comes from individual paying customers. The number of CMU subscribers exceeded 50,000 in February 2008.

In the first half of 2008, the company is proposing to increase the number of clinics by over 60 percent, as well as the number of collaborating physicians. “We will continue to concentrate on raising the company’s reputation as a supplier of medical services, on launching the Diagnostic and Treatment Center, and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, on developing new clinics outside Bucharest and on launching new services in Bucharest, as part of our investment program that exceeds €100 million,” said Sergiu Negut, Executive Director of CMU.

CMU was founded in 1995 by cardiologist Wargha Enayati. At the beginning of 2007, the British 3i Plc investment fund became a minority shareholder in a deal that was the highest involving a private clinic in Romania. CMU has eight multi-disciplinary policlinics in Bucharest and collaborates with over 100 clinics around the country.
