The operator’s revenues fell 4.7 percent in last year’s first nine months, due to harsh competition and inflation pressures, indicates a report by Liberty Global, owner of the Dutch UPC company.
“Everything we launch and invest in Romania is part of the group’s strategy, and all financing is contracted by the group. I do not think that launches and targets this year are unfeasible,” said the firm’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Severina Pascu.
UPC Romania had 225,300 subscribers to its internet services at the end of last September, up 43 percent year-on-year. “Growth continues to be high on the internet segment, because the penetration rate is low. However, the evolution depends on the loan market, which determines people’s ability to acquire computers,” said Pascu.
