UPS enters the Romanian market

Romania’s accession to the European Union and the expected medium-term liberalization of postal services offers major market growth potential, which could reach €500 billion in the coming two years. International companies DHL, TNT and UPS, who together control some 40 percent of the market, are interested in acquiring local courier companies Curiero, Cargus and TCE.

Gian Sharp, General Manager of DHL Romania, thinks that local express courier services could increase by some 30 percent annually, mainly due to European integration.
