“At the moment, we are working to finalize the acquisition process and it is too early to clarify the future details and plans related to the acquisition of the Bere Azuga company and the brand’s development. The only certain thing is that we are determined to keep all the qualities that made Azuga a renowned brand, and, at the same time, to improve its distribution and market presence,” the President of Ursus Breweries, Stephan Maria Weber, told Business Standard.
Ursus Breweries has recently taken over the majority package of Bere Azuga for €7.1 million, thus consolidating its position on the local market. The value of the traded assets amounted to €24.8 mln. Ursus Breweries announced it plans to recruit some 300 people in 2009, 100 more than in 2008, to reach 2,000 employees. About one third of the new employees will join the sales department.
