The most valuable state company, the Romgaz natural gas producer, will not be included in the new structures, but rather will become part of a joint-venture with one of the giants, Videanu added.
The Minister of Economy, present yesterday at the Private Government meeting, an event organized by Business Standard, said that the “restructuring of the energy sector comes exactly in a time of crisis, which makes the project even more difficult.”
The official said later, at the Romanian-Russian Economic Forum, that the authorities will discuss with private companies in the field, namely Enel, E.ON, CEZ, and GDF SUEZ, to ensure that the creation of the two public energy entities does not affect market competitiveness.
