Volkswagen commercial vehicles lead to 25% rise in Porsche Romania revenue

“The Volkswagen commercial vehicle business will reach €80 million in the financial year ending March 31st, and we are expecting business worth €100 mln for this financial year,” said Eugen Grigoras, General Manager of Volkswagen commercial vehicles.

The company plans to sell 5,000 vehicles this year, of which 1,800 will be the Caddy. The average price of Volkswagen commercial vehicles is €20,000-€21,000. Porsche Romania sold over 10,000 commercial vehicles in the past four years, of which 5,000 were the Caddy model.

Porsche Romania, importer of Volkswagen, Seat, Audi, Skoda and Porsche brands, estimated 10 percent higher sales in January than the same period last year.

The company will invest over €60 mln this year to expand its sales network by 30 locations, to a total of 120 service and sales locations. Sales went up 35 percent last year, to some 59,000 units.

Porsche Romania is estimating an increase of at least 10 percent in sales in 2008, to some 65,000 units.
