Vosganian: RON 3,000 average wage and pensions worth RON 1,300 in 2012
Furthermore, the head of the commission drawing up the governing program added that he aims to close the economic development gap between the country’s counties, citing as examples GDP per capita in Timis County at €8,200, and at the opposite end Botosani County, with €3,200.

“The goal is to aim for seventh place in terms of European Union economic power. We estimate that GDP will increase from a present €135 billion to €220 billion,” added Vosganian.

He said that a rise in gross domestic product can be realized based on future investments by the government, foreign investments, European funds that will be accessed, and an increase in capital in the banking and insurance systems.

“Investments in the state budget amounted to 15 percent in 2007. This year, these will rise to 18 percent, while in 2009 I think we will come close to 20 percent. We estimate that foreign investments in the 2009-2012 period will amount to €30-40 billion, investments in the budget €30 billion, to which are added €25 billion from European funds,” said the Minister.

Vosganian also indicated that one of the priorities of the 2009-2012 governing program is an increase of up to 6 percent of GDP in allocations for infrastructure.

The Minister of Economy and Finances said that allocations for health care will also rise, to 7 percent, from a current 4.5 percent of GDP, which will include state and private sector contributions. The Liberal Party will launch the governing program for the coming four years in mid-September.
